Primary Childrens

This week was absolutely crazy!! It all started about 6 weeks ago. Adam started getting swollen lymph nodes and after about 3 weeks I took him into the doctor she really wasn't that worried and said give it another week. I gave it another 2 weeks and then all of a sudden they went huge. Atleast as big as a golf ball. That was last Friday. Then I thought oh, I better take him in on Monday. Then Saturday they got even bigger and he started acting really sick. Then Sunday it was even bigger. I could not believe how big they were. He was so sick! We called the on call doctor and he had us come in. He gave us some antibiotics and he should feel better by Tuesday. Monday he was worse and Tuesday it was out of control. He was in so much pain they had to give him tylenol codine. His face was swollen and his left ear was leaking like a faucet. He stopped eating on Friday and he had not slept since then either. It was crazy! Anyway, we took him into his pediatrician and he said we needed to go down to the Primary Children's Emergency room in Salt Lake. We went and they admitted him. He had a high temp and he was absolutely miserable. We ended up staying there for 2 nights and three days. They did tons of tests. I felt so bad for Adam. He would cringe everytime the nurses would come in. They gave him IV antibiotics and within 24 hours he was amazingly better and his levels in his blood had come down half. It was amazing. The tests came back and they found out that he got Mono about 6 weeks before. That is probably why his neck was a little swollen. Then it developed into a bacterial infection and that is what really made him so sick. Now he is doing great! He is back to our sweet little healthy boy! These pictures were at our last day at the hospital. They lymph nodes were about half the size they were originally.

WOW, it is so hard to experience sick children of your own!
I am glad to hear all is well now.

I swear most doctors are complete idiots, its like they don't even try to actually diagnose, they just throw antibiotics at everything. We are glad he is better!
