What a Morning!!

I woke up this morning just like I do evry Tuesday morning and I go work out with my sister in law, Marci. Little did I know this morning would turn out a little different then I planned. When I got the Gym I, like usual, went and ran. When I got to about 2 miles I started coughing and then I felt like I needed to get off the treadmill. All of a sudden I had a coughing attack and my eyes started feeling a little big swollen. Within about 5 minutes I had about 1/2 of my lung capacity and I thought I was going to suffocate because I couldn't breath. Marci and I decided to just take me home. When we were almost home it was getting worse to where I could hardly breath at all and my eyes (even my actual eye balls) were completely swollen up. We then decided I needed to go the the instacare. When we got the instacare it was closed for 30 more minutes. By this time I could really barely get any air in my lungs my head was spinning because I could hardly breath at all, my eyes were HUGE!!!, and I was the color of a lobster. I really thought I saw my life flash before my eyes because I was then shaking and I felt like I was suffocating. Anyway, I couldn't even talk to the check in lady at the ER so my sister in law had to check me in and they sent me straight back to get a shot of adrenalin. This shortly after caused me to be able to breath but it made my blood vessels contract so they could not get the IV in me for the following drugs they would give me. After about 10 pokes and then fishing for my vein once they were in, they decided it was a lost cause and gave me benedryl in another shot and the medicine in oral form. About 30 minutes later I was feeling a lot better but my eyes were still pretty swollen. In fact they are basically swollen shut. This picture is actually a lot better then when I first got there. I had some sort of horrible allergic reaction to something. I have no clue what. The doctor said it was a good thing I did not go to the insta care because the reaction was fatal and if I would have waited a little bit longer I could have died. That was a CRAZY morning. If you are wondering why in the world I would post such a horrible picture of myself it is because I have a few people that have requested to see it. I am doing a lot better now. I have to now carry a Epi pin (not sure how to spell) with me at all times. If I start to feel like this again I have to shoot my thigh with this and get to the ER asap. The sad part is that I have no idea what I was allergic to so I can't really try to avoid it. Long story...Long morning....and Thank you Marci for helping me out!

Wow, that is crazy! I hope you can figure out what you are allergic to. Good thing you had a friend there.

This picture just doesn't do the actual experience justice--I'm just glad you didn't pass out on me--or worse!!

NO MORE OF THAT. But good catching up today! P.S. Do you ever watch Oprah? Cause I did yesterday and I thought of you.

Hi Stacy! I saw your blog off Allie's & thought I'd say hello! (We were neighbors at Ricks, in case you have no idea who I am)
Sorry about your reaction...maybe you're allergic to treadmills!!! Or running! Hope you're feeling better!

Hi Stacy! I am so sorry to hear about your allergic reaction. I hope you feel better soon. Jason had a few month period in Utah when he kept having some allergic reaction out of nowhere (we still don't know what caused it) and hives broke out over his entire body and his throat started to close up. What a scary experience that was in the ER with him so I have an idea of how scary that must have been for you. I hope things are going better. Take care!

Holy buckests stace~ that is so freaky, I hope you can get it figured out, it would be terrible if that happened when you were with the boys. I'll keep you in my prayers.

WOW! I hope you're feeling better. You should get an allergy test or something. I broke out in hives once, and I still don't know from what. Yours is more serious than mine though.

HOW SCARY!!! SOunds like anaphalatic (Spelling??) shock. I had the same thing happen to me. My hubby saved my life over the phone...he told me to drink all the liquid Benadryl I could find (which was only 1tsp) and call 911. After I passed out and hit the floor and came to and crawled to the floor and dialed 911. Madison knew what to tell the operator (she was only 5) but somehow I got through enough info for them to get to me. So 45 minutes later they show up...they had to come down Kingwood Dr. at 5:00 rush hour. By then neighbors found more Benadryl and saved my life. SCARY thing. Thanks for reminding me that I need to get a new EPI pen.
Glad you are okay. Keep Benadryl in your car and diaper bag. Tounge strips work well...I keep them on hand for my kids too.

That's the worst and quickest reaction to anything I have ever seen or heard of! I am so glad you went to the hospital, but not as glad as Spencer was I am sure!
No idea what caused it huh??? That is even scarier!!! I am glad you carry the needle of adrenalin with you at all times!
